Russia limits purchase price of mobile phones for bureaucrats

MOSCOW, Dec 5 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has capped purchase prices of mobile phones for some heads of the government bodies, according to a ruling, disclosed on Monday on the Web site of the government.

The end price of a handset bought for a director or a deputy director of a federal state entity, excluding head of a federal agency, as well as deputy directors of federal service and agencies, was set at 15,000 rubles.

The purchase price of a mobile phone for a head and deputies of a federal agency or a service was not stipulated. State aides and counsellors can buy phones for 10,000 rubles at the highest and specialists for 5,000 rubles.

Heads of regional entities can buy phones for maximum 10,000 rubles, lower officials for up to 7,000 rubles and advisors and specialists of regional authorities for up to 5,000 rubles.
